Microsoft Power Platform

Marco Ordanino.jpg

Microsoft invests on the Power Platform with the aim of offering to the users the opportunity to quickly and simply create web and mobile applications, ideal to support business intelligence processes.

This is possible thanks to the synergy developed through PowerBI, PowerApps and Power Automate.

Why the Power Platform?

Today's business needs are the ability to respond quickly to both external and internal customer. In these terms Power Platform allows to analyze the information coming from the business (Power BI), identify the processes to be managed in a structured way (Power Apps) and implement their business logics in an automatic and controlled way (Power Auomate).

In this way, the IT department maintains a central role in supporting users and information governance, and at the same time enabling people to respond to their own business needs. In fact, the production of tools to support the business is carried out in a structured and simple manner directly inside the company, department, division, etc.

The advantages of Power Platform

Power Platform applications allows users, even without previous experience as developers, to manage, analyze, integrate and automate information coming from business applications, both Micorsoft (Office365 and Dynamics365), and third parties, thanks to a large set of connectors available "Out of the box". Company information can be aggregated, processed and securely hosted within the cloud hosting service called Common Data Service (CDS), which offers the possibility of easily organizing your data using a series of standard or "ad hoc" entities. .

The components of the Power Platform

Through Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate, business users are involved in the continuous process of analysis ("Analyze"), management ("Act") and automation ("Automate") of their business processes. In fact the different tools of the suite are:

  • PowerBI (Analyze): It allows the creation of interactive reports and dashboards using and combining different data sources between them, from Excel to a validated data set made available by IT department. The platform therefore provides a space for sharing reports with your Team, allowing automatic data updating, sending data-based notifications and the function to comment the reports directly with your teams
  • PowerApps (Act): It allows you to quickly and easily create applications to support business processes, without using code, through a special graphical interface, starting from scratch models. Applications created using Power Apps can collect, integrate and write data on various Microsoft and third-party business applications.
  • Power Automate (Automate): Allows business processes automation with the integration of different systems that normally could not communicate. Through a graphical interface and without the use of code it is possible to automate all those processes previously managed manually.

Power Virtual Agents will soon be added to the platform and will allow users to easily create, without code, BOTs that will support users in solving the most common problems and in carrying out routine operations.

When to use the Power Platform?

The Power Platform applications, individually and exponentially combined, provide to companies a powerful set of tools able to support and automate the processes of digitization and the processes alligned with the business needs coming from internal users and customers.

With Power Platform, it becomes possible for the teams to digitize the previous paper processes, integrate their business rules on applications that can be used both on web or mobile, monitoring the business information by activating an automatic information management processes.
